Aging Scale
The first thing to learn about the elderly is what age group they specifically belong to.
Young-OldThe youngest of old people, still having energy to go about their lives, and have little to no stress, with happiness. Ages 65-74.
|
Middle-OldThe "okay I got time" people. Not at the top of their mood, but certainly not a ball of stress. Ages 75-84.
|
Old-OldThe eldest of elders, ages 85 and older. They have the most stress, and tend to be less happy than the rest.

The Greying of Canada
Canada has been witnessing the effects of over populating elders in their society. The main reason for this was an event known as the baby boomers, nearly a third of the Canadian population was born following the generation of World War II. Between 1946 and 1964 the Canadian families had an average of 3.7 children per family, compared to nowadays, being only 1.7.
